Terms & Conditions
These Terms and Conditions may be updated from time to time. The version applicable to a registration is the version presented or made available to the participant when they register, subject to applicable law.
1. About Our Learning Experiences
Courses, workshops, and other learning experiences offered by Linda Clement, Raising Parents Inc. and the Journal of Adaptive Architecture provide opportunities to explore ideas, develop understanding, and apply learning in practical contexts.
By registering for a learning experience, you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to any additional terms explicitly provided for that particular offering.
2. Registration
Registration deadlines, start dates, duration, format, capacity, and other offering-specific details will be provided on the relevant registration page.
Registration is complete once the required payment has been successfully processed.
Late registration is not available unless explicitly stated for a particular offering.
3. Fees and Payment
Fees, available payment options, and payment schedules are specified on the relevant registration page.
All prices are stated in Canadian dollars unless otherwise indicated.
When you select a payment plan, you agree to pay the full amount associated with that plan, according to the stated payment schedule. Choosing instalment payments does not mean that you may discontinue payments at your discretion.
If you stop attending, decide not to continue participating, or otherwise discontinue your involvement in a learning experience, you remain responsible for the outstanding balance, subject to applicable law and any refund entitlement under these Terms and Conditions.
Where payment plans are offered, the payment schedule and number of instalments will be specified at registration.
4. Failed or Missed Payments
If a scheduled payment fails, you have seven days to resolve the payment issue.
If payment remains outstanding after that period, your access to the learning experience may be suspended until your payments are up to date.
Access will be restored once the outstanding payment has been received.
Suspension of access does not cancel your registration or eliminate your obligation to pay the outstanding balance.
Unpaid amounts may be referred to a collection agency or pursued through other lawful collection processes.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
Refund eligibility and deadlines are specified on the relevant registration page. Unless a different policy is explicitly stated for a particular offering, the following policy applies:
- Full refund: Available until 30 days before the learning experience begins.
- 50% refund: Available until 6:00 p.m. on the day before the third session.
- After that deadline: No refunds are available.
All times are Pacific Time.
To request a refund, complete the refund request form provided with your registration materials.
Choosing not to attend, missing sessions, or discontinuing participation does not create an additional entitlement to a refund.
A refund does not automatically cancel an outstanding payment obligation except to the extent that the refund satisfies or reduces that obligation. Any refund and remaining balance will be calculated in accordance with the applicable refund policy and applicable law.
Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable legislation.
6. Program Delivery and Changes
The format, schedule, duration, and delivery arrangements for each learning experience will be described on its registration page.
Circumstances may occasionally require a change to the schedule, delivery arrangements, or timing of a learning experience. Where necessary, delivery may be paused and resumed when reasonably possible.
Participants will be informed of material changes.
The applicable refund policy continues to apply when a change or interruption occurs. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions removes any refund or other entitlement required by applicable law.
7. Participation and Access
Participants are responsible for managing their own participation, including attending sessions and making use of the learning materials provided.
Missing a session does not, by itself, entitle a participant to a refund or reduce their payment obligations.
Access to learning experiences and their materials is provided for the period specified in the relevant registration materials.
Participants are responsible for ensuring they have the equipment, internet connection, and other resources reasonably required to participate in the format offered.
Any additional participation expectations or access conditions will be communicated as part of the registration process.
8. Learning Materials and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the ideas, written materials, exercises, recordings, and other resources provided through our learning experiences remain the intellectual property of their respective owners.
Registration grants permission to use these materials for personal learning.
Materials may not be reproduced, distributed, published, sold, sublicensed, or otherwise made available to others without prior written permission from the relevant rights holder.
Registration does not transfer ownership of the underlying intellectual property.
9. Confidentiality and Respectful Participation
Participants are encouraged to contribute to a learning environment in which people can explore ideas, question assumptions, and consider different interpretations.
Please respect the privacy of other participants. Do not share another participant's personal contributions or identifying information outside the learning experience without their permission.
Participants remain responsible for deciding what personal information they choose to share.
Any additional confidentiality arrangements specific to a learning experience will be communicated separately.
10. Nature of Our Learning Experiences
Our learning experiences are educational. They provide opportunities to explore ideas, develop understanding, and consider how learning might be applied in different contexts.
No particular personal, professional, financial, or other outcome is guaranteed. Results will depend in part on individual circumstances, participation, and application of what is learned.
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, participation does not constitute medical, psychological, legal, or financial advice.
11. Applicable Law and Disputes
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws applicable in British Columbia, Canada.
Subject to applicable law, any legal proceedings relating to a learning experience or these Terms and Conditions must be brought before a court of competent jurisdiction in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions removes any rights or protections that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable legislation.
